Forget the wedding! Take a moment and think about all the prewedding
occasions where friends will be taking pictures and then presenting memory books to you. You will be pulling out these little gems from time to time for the rest of your life. Chilling thought isn’t it?
And it means your usual jeans and pullover may need a little help.
There may be an office party, a shower or two, an engagement
party, a rehearsal dinner and perhaps the occasional dinner invitation
from old friends of the family.
So what will you wear that is comfortable, attractive and that just
may stand the test of time?
Cool classics
A basic just-to-the-knee dress is a good starting
point. It’s a classic length that is timeless. Then
dress it up with a killer accessory – something that
is fashionable today but 20 years from now will still
make a statement.
- A feather necklace or feather hairpiece: it’s cool
now and will still look great in your future. - An astonishing necklace, because bling can
always be a show-stopper. - An interesting oversize brooch.
- A wide cuff that dazzles.
- A glorious belt with a jewelled buckle.
Choose just one talking point because you don’t want to kill a good idea
by overdoing the accessories; they can cancel each other out.
Slim pants are useful and chic. Add a sleeveless top with a great belt or
a sleek bustier and you’re good to go.
Leggings and skinny jeans go anywhere. Add a crisp white shirt and
black blazer and you’ve got a look that takes you everywhere today and
tomorrow.
Heads up
There may be days when your crowning glory
isn’t all that glorious. You’ll be surprised how a
classic hat will lift your look from okay to olé.
