Semone and Brian grew up in the same neighbourhood and went to high school together. Brian had a crush on Semone, but they never actually spoke in high school. One fateful day, years later, they bumped into each other at a local gas station. They exchanged phone numbers and have been inseparable ever since!
The couple’s first date was in 2004 and they watched planes take off from the airport. Nine years later, in the exact spot where they had their first date, Brin proposed to Semone and she enthusiastically said ‘YES’! At the time, the couple had had two beautiful daughters and a home, so marrying Brian was a dream come true for Semone.
The couple’s favourite wedding moment was the ceremony because it was exactly what they had hoped for. “It was funny, sentimental and really focused on us solidifying our family through marriage,” says the bride. “The entire ceremony was surreal; the chapel was packed and you could literally feel the love beaming from everyone.”
As for the couple’s favourite wedding detail, that included a very unique representation of the groom’s culture. “For favours, we gave out jars of Bajan (Barbados) seasoning because we wanted to give people something that was practical to use and enjoy…and the reviews were great,” says the bride.
