A Simple Destination Wedding in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Lori’s future husband, Aaron, convinced his future wife to drive from the east to the west coast of Newfoundland for his elaborate marriage proposal.

On the Mother’s Day weekend in 2010, Aaron invited Lori to a ziplining trip with Marble Zip Tours in Corner Brook, N.L. On the first platform before the couple took their first plunge, Aaron proposed.

Their simple Caribbean-themed wedding took place on August 29, 2011, in front of 55 guests. Their ceremony was held on Bavaro Beach at the Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana and their reception was held in The Beach Restaurant.

Lori’s favourite wedding details were the table settings at the Beach Restaurant: large candle holders with simple white candles, clear vases that held the bridesmaids’ bouquets, rose petals spread across the tables and a tropical-style centerpiece.

Lori and Aaron chose She’s Everything by Brad Paisley and I Need You by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill as their wedding songs. The couple had their song choices engraved on their rings.
